February 2008: We are in the process of widening the track and in doing so we have removed the metal flag stand for safety. Mike and Mark (mostly Mark) have been building a new combination score stand / flag stand.
November 2006: Got Dirt? We do.
Two new loads came in today and Mike is out there playing in the dirt.
We really tore up the track when we did Mini-Sprint testing a few weeks ago, so Mike will be re-working the track over this two week break to give our racers a great surface for the Turkey Shoot.
July 2006: Mike added more dirt to the track this month which made the track wider, and we purchased a water storage tank to keep a reserve of water on hand at all times. The track also has new radios!!!!! June 3, 2006:
Does anyone have surveying
experience and/or knows someone that could assist us with planning out
our pit parking once the house is gone? We finally sold our house
in Saginaw, so the next step is to find 'temporary' housing (used mobile
home - if you know of one >CHEAP< please let us
know that too!) and then the old farmhouse will come down to make room
for our racers. I would like to be able to use the additional
space is the best possible way, and as you guys have learned - I'm not
the best at plotting parking.
The plan is to let the Rhome Volunteer Fire Department do a 'controlled' burn on the house for training purposes. I'm not sure when this will all take place since I first I'm sure that I will have to get some form of official approval from the mortgage company (or refinance/split property - and of course we will use 13th Green Mortgage!) We also plan to leave the trees in backyard area and turn that into a small playground/picnic area for the racing families to enjoy.
The timing is kind of funny, but really has me pumped: SKRA event = record number of entries THEN the very next week = Saginaw house sells after 4 years of trying!!! (That was a financial and mental burden that was preventing a lot of major track expansion plans that we have had.)
If anyone hasn't already figured it out by now, our family is passionate about what we do. We totally understand that we will never get rich doing this line of work, but I can't tell you how much joy I get watching your children race and have fun! I consider myself the official 'track Mom' to all of them and you children reciprocate by showering me with respect and love. May 2006: Mike and Mark finished the installing the new lights this weekend! Mike and Mark installed additional lighting. These lights are huge! Here they are doing the electrical wiring.

| March 2006 Track Improvements: Over the past week Phil Cox and Dorian Morgan have been installing a "Catch Fence" along the front stretch and in Turn 1. | |||||

Special thanks goes out to Rick Strickland, John
Goin, Tommy Stephens, Phillip Brimmer, Blake (Phillip's nephew), Rodney
Walker, Rachel Welch, and Brandon & Savanna Hays for helping today cut
down trees for our track expansion.
Especially Rick for bringing out his 4wheeler and trailer to help with
this project
AND
risking his life by climbing half way up the tree with a chain saw in his
tow and balancing perilously as he cut off the larger limbs that were
hanging over the track.
