I just wanted to let our KAM family know that Hayli Renfro had her best finish of the season this past Saturday night at KSP (next to Cowtown).  She finished 3rd in her heat and 4th in the main out of 14 drivers.  It was photo finish between 3rd and 4th place for her.  She is driving in the Jr. Mini Stock class.  Not too bad for her rookie year.  We will see you all in September.  Linda Renfro

Cheers to Mike, Mark, Shane Sr., Shane Jr., Kaley & Megan for busting their butts to make the race happen last Saturday despite the weather.  For hours it looked like we were going to have to call the race, but Mike kept the faith and we had 66 racers put on an awesome program for all.
Happy Birthday to Jimmy Dawn (May 4th) and to Phil Cox (May 6th).
Megan & Kaley wanted to send out a special Checkered Cheers to Elizabeth Richardson and Ashley Cox for helping them at the last race (pushing their karts after each race).

Katelyn and I managed to get out to Boyd for Kaley’s first race. I hope that was a great experience for her and we really enjoyed that (despite the cold). You should be really proud to have a child who is so responsible in the way she handles herself on the track, I can only imagine that she is also responsible in other things and that is something for a parent to be proud of.

You guys also run a top notch racing business that’s so good for the kids who come out there. I really like that you keep a good grip on discipline and require good sportsmanship. By doing so you are doing more for the kids than some might think, just wanted to remind you and say thanks.  > Sam J. (Emailed 4/22/07)

The Honeycutt Family would like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who pitched in and helped out Aislynn this past race since her pit crew could be there!
Special thanks to Bob Vining with Motul for prize give-a-ways at the 4/21 race!!  I also want to thank Louise Evans for helping out with scoring during the Features - WOW - we needed it with 12 in Pure Stock and 9 super fast Animals out on the track!!  Plus it was nice to see the Evans family at KAM (yes we put them to work - Dean & Nicki too)

We also have a new 50/50 Mom & daughter team filling in for Linda: Melissa & baby Grace Sherman (Mom & sister of driver Madison #22 Pure Stock).  Although we will miss Linda tremendously - we wish Hayli Renfro the BEST OF LUCK in her Jr. Mini Stock (big car) racing endeavors at Kennedale Speedway.

Congratulations to Nicki Evans in her Legends car racing.  Saturday night she won her first heat in her Legend car. She lead all 10 laps. Nicki also got 2nd in the feature!  Way to go Nicki!!!

3/26/07  Amazing start to the new racing season!  This race was one of the best overall races we've had at KAM in a long time!  Thanks to everyone for being a part of it.  Kaley wanted me to tell everyone that she had the best birthday ever and to thank everyone for sharing it with her.  You all made her feel very special when it was cake time.

We want to thank the Rhome Volunteer Fire Department for hanging out at the races this past Saturday as well!   James & Brandon Ward were on hand too, and James' Father is doing better, health wise - we appreciate you being our Medic - now get Brandon's kart ready for racing!!  ;-)    Also Mark Welch wanted to send out kudos to the Mod Champ class for their great sportsmanship and letting Rachel hang with them on the track even though her motor was not up to their level.

Kudos to the Pure Stock class too - especially the parents!!!  Great Sportsmanship! You guys (and gals) are awesome role models for your children!

3/23/07  I've been getting a lot of calls this week from potential drivers asking questions about KAM Kartway, and every single person I've talked to said that they want their child to race here (in addition to their home track) because we "have the best drivers in north Texas"....  Mike and I are very proud of our KAM drivers!  We get complemented all the time when we are at other tracks about our "KAM Kids".  We are also looking forward to our best year yet at KAM....see you at the track.  >Kelley & Mike
3/22/07 Congratulations to Elizabeth Richardson for wining an Essay in her grade level sponsored by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas!  Her essay won at the local, regional, and State level!!  Way to go Elizabeth.

Spring is in the air!  Spring signifies a new beginning so let's make this new racing season the best race season ever!  I found a great verse in the Bible in Song of Songs, and to be honest....I had never heard of "Song of Songs", also known as "Song of Solomon (NIV), and I actually do read the Bible very often.  This just proves how God works in our lives, because I happened to be searching for answers and strength when I found this.  This verse, and the meaning behind it, has really been a Blessing to me and just wanted to share this.  One of the themes of this chapter is how conflict should lead to recommitment!  Very in tune with Spring.

Song of Songs 2:11-13

Congratulations to Megan Engstrom!  She was Baptized tonight at Aurora Baptist Church where her and Kaley attend Awanas.  I am a very  proud Mama right now! What an amazing experience and Blessing to have been a part of it.  "My tongue will speak of your righteousness and of your praises all day long."  Psalm 35:28
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVAN BROWN for winning the Bandos Winter Series at TMS!  Great Job Evan!!!

Thank you David Honeycutt and Mike Query for helping us get Hayli Renfro’s kart working for the main.  I know that I am missing some individual’s names to thank but we all know that KAM drivers and their families will help each other when needed.  KAM Kartway is a wonderful place to race where we all do not mind helping each other out.  Thanks so much.  Hayli was able to compete in the main event and had her first win of the season.  I was doing the Irish Jig on the track.  Thanks again!!!  Linda and Steve Renfro

We want to send out a special thanks to Tom ONeil for announcing the race this past Saturday!  Tom's enthusiasm was evident with his rapid-fire, second-by-second account of the action, as well as his ad-lib commentary, keeping everyone entertained and informed of the racing activities.
Congratulations to Megan Engstrom who won her first race in the second heat and her first podium finish in the Super Stock Feature!
Thanks to Paula Goin who won the 50/50 pot on Feb 17th and donated it back to the track!!!  This $$ will go into our Awards Fund.
At the World of Wheels in Wichita Falls February 3rd, Trevor McIntire finished 2nd in the Hot Stock class.  I could not think of a better way to spend my birthday but to be racing with Trevor and for him to pull out a second place; what a present!!
I also would like to thank Shane Johnson and Jr.  Not knowing the rules for this event and deciding to attend the event late.  The Johnson's stayed up and assisted with the build of a motor for Trevor that would be competitive.  Did I mention that we did this in the HOTEL room the night before we started racing at 8:00 a.m. the next morning!!!!  That's dedication!!!!!  >>Bret A. McIntire

I just wanted to say thanks to Mike and Kelley, Chris (the announcer), the Staff and all the racers and parents at KAM Kartway. It has been a great 2 yrs of racing, and we had a lot of fun racing and meeting all the folks at KAM when we came up there. From the first time we raced at KAM I knew it was somewhere I wanted us to race again. The races always ran smoothly, on time and the racing was great. We will miss all you guys and I hope we can get up there and visit next year. Keep of the great work and continued success to everyone there.

One last thing for Chris.....the racing would not have been as fun if you had not been announcing....God bless you and your family and do not ever stop announcing unless you're forced too. You make the race nights the best.

Tracy and Collin Chapman (11/14/06)
Thanks to all the dads that helped with Hayli Renfro’s brakes.  She was unable to do the hot laps but thanks to all the extra hands, she was able to complete the heat laps and main.  We appreciated it greatly.  Linda (11-13-06)

Cheers to the Johnsons and the Honeycutts for coming out this past Saturday to help with grounds maintenance at the track!
Happy 1 Year Racing Anniversary to Nicki Evans, #9 Super Stock Driver.  Nicki started her racing career one year ago (June 26th) at KAM Kartway after enrolling in a kart driving school.  Her talents became clear right away and she won the Pure Stock Championship title in her first series of racing. Nicki plans on becoming a NASCAR driver one day and I have no doubt that her dreams will be realized.  >Suggested by Amy Cox 6-06
Congratulations to Anton Hernandez!  Anton was named the Driver of the Month by McGlynn Racing (>click here) and is also featured on Young Racers of America's website.  And as luck would have it, Gayle with YRA and I have both been sending out "sponsor" requests - well one individual (who wishes to remain anonymous) got both of them on the same day (I guess?), went to both our sites and saw Anton's profile and called me today to tell me that he wants to sponsor him under our "Driver Sponsor" level.
Huge thanks to Tony Hogan and his father-in-law for bringing out water (3 trips!) that they pumped from their personal well, and watering the track.

Cheers to everyone who has called, emailed and otherwise shown concern for the McIntire Family and especially the heartache for Trevor over the loss of his kart in a home burglary last week. There were numerous offers of help, but I simply have to mention Dave Honeycutt who (I believe) wanted to offer a loaner motor and to Tony Hogan who wanted to offer a spare kart (the one listed for sale on the classified page).  Additionally, after posting the news on the website the first person to contact me and ask what they could do to help was Louis Evans.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful families at KAM Kartway.  Thanks to all of you.

Happy Birthday to Drew Komarek, Andy Hogan and Ashley Cox!
Thank you Mike Myers for the donation of TMS tickets that were given away in the 50/50 drawing.  Who won them?
Happy Birthday to Daq Querry!!
Thank you Jerry Hinson, the SKRA Tech Official who donated $50.00 to the Rhome Volunteer Fire Department!

Also to all the SKRA members that came out this past weekend!  We had a record breaking 71 race entries. Special thanks to Kevin from J&S Raceway who flagged the races for us and to Trevor Reed who was a great help to me during the races, to our own Alan Kuhn for helping us with the race, Mike Jones for assisting with the scales, and Tom Harris who lent a hand as well.  I'm sure that I'm missing someone - and as soon as I rest up from the weekend I will remember and add you as well.

Congratulations are in order for Ryan Dotson (World Formula) and his wife Marnie on the birth of their baby boy whom they have named Keeton on May 17th.  This is Ryan and Marnie's 2nd child, they have son Cameron to help out! Baby Keeton has a Gift Registry at Target for all you Pit Moms who want to re-live the moment of baby shopping without the midnight feeding!

Congrats to Evan Brown for doing so well in the Lone Star Legends series with your new Bandolero car! (He's the orange car.)

I see a future NASCAR driver in our group!!

Congratulations MEGAN for making the 8th grade Performance Cheer Squad!!!!!

Thank you Mike Myers for the TMS tickets donation that were raffled off in the last 50/50 drawing!

Congrats Terri Smith for winning them!! (Are you taking me?)
